Na próxima terça-feira, 17/11, teremos o WEB-Colóquio apresentado pelo Prof. Raja Junaid Amjad com título “Plasmon mediated luminescence of rare earth ions”.

Resumo da palestra:

Metal nanoparticles are studied extensively in the literature due to their unique properties desirable for many applications. Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is the coherent oscillations of the conduction electrons which is exploited in many modern technologies. Photoluminescence of rare earth ionsis used in lasers, sensing and display systems, however absorption cross section for the intraband 4f transitions is small and there have been many attempts to enhance the efficiency of these ions. Metal nanoparticles and RE coupling has been developed as a successful strategy to enhance the luminescence intensity. In this talk I will be presenting some of the earlier works, current situation and future recommendation in this field.
